China has opened its telecom service and Internet sectors to foreign investment; yet, relatively few firms have made the jump. This workshop will examine the relevant Chinese telecom and ICT laws and practices for foreign investment. It will discuss the latest development in telecom regulations in the areas of IPTV, VoIP, Online services, cable and broadcasting. In addition, the workshop will provide a unique view on how deals are really being done in China based on real business case analysis.

The aim of the workshop is to give potential participants in China's telecom and ITC market a flavor of the political/economic background and legal/regulatory risks, which are commonly encountered in this dynamic but highly regulated sector.

Target Participants:

  • Global network carriers
  • Mobile service providers
  • Venture capital firms
  • Potential investors in China's telecom and ICT sectors
  • Internet applications developers
